The DataTap 10 is our most advanced ASCB Bus Interface Product available that receives and records all versions of ASCB including ASCB-A, B, C, D, and Enhanced ASCB. The unit can also optionally transmit on ASCB-D and Enhanced ASCB for simulation purposes. The device is available in 2 configurations. We offer the standard DataTap-10 in a black anodized aluminum case and for Flight Test we offer a ruggedized version. Both of these are listed below.

This is a handheld, USB-powered, ASCB interface that is available in either receive only for flight test applications, or both receive and transmit capable on ASCB-D and Enhanced ASCB with the MP2010-001 TX option. The DataTap-10 uses ICS developed ASCB hardware chipset to perform the ASCB decoding and encoding using state machines in FPGA logic with some assistance of onboard processors. We are able to perform all processing and conversion of the ASCB data in the DataTap-10. This is a radical departure from our past ASCB FlightLine 1400 and 1500 bus reader platforms which required a dedicated laptop and were processor intensive. This is also our replacement for the previous generation PCI-NIC.

The DataTap 10 comes with our Windows compatible software called FlightLine that can be installed on your laptop or desktop computer. The DataTap-10 is a quad-channel ASCB bus interface that processes receive data from 2 of the 4 busses (user selectable) and can (optionally) transmit on all 4 busses as well. The RX only version of the product does not contain the output drivers and other hardware for transmission as a safety mechanism to prevent accidental transmission. If transmission is desired, an additional part number (MP2010-001) must be ordered. Please see part numbers listed on the options tab below.

Uses the same pin-out and connectors as older PCI-NICs for compatibility with existing wiring and connectors.

    UPDATE INSTRUCTIONS:

Unzip the release to extract the mb0.srd and mb1.srd files.  These files must be transferred onto the DataTap-10’s microSD card.  This can be accomplished using the “DT10 Update” feature of FlightLine version 12.1 or later, by manually transferring them via FTP, or by removing the microSD card from the unit and copying them directly onto the card using a PC.  A power cycle then initiates the update sequence.  The LEDs on the front of the DataTap-10 will flash in a rectangular pattern while the update is taking place, which takes less than 20 seconds to complete.  The files will automatically be deleted from the microSD card by the DataTap-10 once the update has completed successfully.   If power is removed while the update is in progress, the update will simply resume when power is re-applied.   Note that it is always possible to revert back to previous software versions.

Note:  All older system configuration files are compatible with newer software releases, however, new features will not be accessible when using the older files.
