32-BIT PC104PLS High Speed Adaptable Interface Card
The PC 104 Plus version of the APIC Adaptable Parallel Interface Card is designed to allow flexible interface solutions to PC104 based data acquisition and telemetry systems. This interface card is ideally suited to bridging the gap between synchronous and asynchronous data producers and consumers. With its 128Kbytes of USER data memory and additional 128Kb of Time TAG Registers, the APIC allows every data read or write (up to 32768 of them) from the synchronous side to be automatically time tagged with a 28-bit value and an 4-bit validity value. The time tag clock rate is adjustable and provides a means to identify when the data was written regardless of when it is read. A 64-bit output latch allows latching a 32-bit value with its time tag and data validity bits for coherent reading even on 8-bit bus widths. The use of a re-programmable FPGA allows different customer needs to be easily addressed, even in the field, with one board. Parallel Addressable Dual Port RAM and PCM interfaces are currently supported. Supported Interface lengths vary depending on data rate and type, but distances up to 40’ (12 Meters) or Data rates as high as 40 MBytes/Sec are possible depending on the connected equipment.
